my doc told me he'd put me on generic adderall because i have no health insurance.

what on earth could he be talking about? dexedrine? he seemed adamant about not giving me that the last time i visited him, and was given strattera (barf.)

i was under the impression there was no such thing.

Yep. A few companies make generic forms of Adderall.
Ironically, Barr Pharma. makes generic and also brand (they bought the rights from Shire a while back).

If you have no insurance, check out your local Costco pharmacy. They tend to had the cheapest out-of-pocket cost for generic Adderall and/or Dexedrine. I was quoted a price of $34 and change for 90 (10mg) Adderall tablets. Dexedrine was about the same.

Is there really any difference between a generic adderall and the name brand one?

I'll tell you in about 3 days when my new mail order supply arrives. I ordered brand name instead of Barr's generic.

To me, the difference is amazing, Barr's is WAY better than name brand. they are blue scored twice.

I thought I had Barr brand generic 30's?? they were pink (about the same color). I recently switched to brand this month and seems not as strong. I have a suspcion that they are putting more long acting amphetamines in the generic. The brand also seems much smoother. It also does not bother my heart like the generic.... I am pretty sure there is a difference.

Yeah, I have a feeling there's a difference between generic and brand but I can't quite tell for certain. I get a different feeling from brand than I do from generic, but every day seems like it's a slightly different feeling, some days are bad and some days are simply unrepeatable. I prefer the first release of brand XR over generic IR adderall, which should theoretically be fairly similar.
