Today is day one on Adderall, 10mg twice a day.

The doc originally prescribed XR, but I had to call her and ask her to change it because my insurance doesn't cover name brand.

I am a little nervous about the sudden dose rather then extended release. Three years ago I took Concerta and it made me so nervous I was sick to the stomach.

I took the pill an hour ago and so far no nervousness. :D

I am keeping a journal (at least that is my intention... I don't always follow through) to note any changes or progress. I guess just being about to keep the journal going past two days will be progress!!!! LOL! I started it so I had something to show the doctor... notes about my concerns and problem areas as they happened. I quit after two days. :o

If you drink coffee regularly, remember to drink some an hour or 2 after that first dose. I started my first dose yesterday and by the evening I had the worst headache I've had in years. I took 2 advil and it did nothing.. I took another 2 and that finally helped. Drink lots of water and avoid anything with citric acid. Good luck! What is the deal with citric acid? That's the first time I have heard that.

Let's see... this is how my day went.

8:30 - took first dose.
8:35 - drank coffee
9:30 - feeling buzz. took shower
10:30 - buzz feeling gone. started work

work started off great. I couldn't wait to get here and start on a project. However, due to the frustration of not knowing where to start, I am fighting my usual distractions. I am not, however, fighting the fatigue that usually comes with the frustration. Usually I want to pass out when I get stressed by a difficult project. I'm thankful to not be dealing with that right now.

Physically I feel like I had two cups of coffee, but not as jumpy or cranky as I get when I have too much caffeine.

An odd physical feeling I have at the moment is clarity in my head.... like I took afrin to clear my sinuses. They are unusually clear at the moment. Not something I was expecting!

1:20PM - I'm not happy with my project outline, but it's getting closer. I fear I am straying too far from the original objective though so thinking of reining it in a bit.

Considering the second dose because I don't want to take it too late in the day for fear it will keep me up all night. Not sure if I need it at the moment though. I will wait until after lunch.

No nausea to speak of. That is good.

Felt that everything in my head quieted down.
