Anyone have a remedy they use for when they start to come down on Adderall XR? I'm trying to avoid having a migraine headache, feeling weak, and thinking slow.

This is my 2nd day on XR 10mg 1xday. Maybe it'll go away but just wanted to know if someone had some tips.

I am drinking lots of water and eating and still drinking coffee so I don't have the caffeine headaches when the XR wears off.

thanks

I would suggest first getting off the caffeine. That plays a MAJOR part in your headaches.

Too much caffeine and Adderall are not good.

My daughter had mild headaches from AD XR for about a week and then no longer. I have 3 on it for about 8 years.

On my first day of XR, yesterday, I had no coffee... after a regular schedule of 2 cups in the morning everyday. After the XR wore off i had the worst migraine I've had in years. I read the board and lot of people say they have headaches after they come down if they don't get enough Food, water, or caffeine. So today I'm drinking 1 cup of coffee to see if that takes the headache away later tonight.

I had the same problem on 20mg XR. I would have to drink a soda or energy drink around 230-3 just to get rid of the migraines and wicked headaches I was getting. While I liked everything else about the adderall, I ended up switching to Vyvanse because the headaches never went away. I drink about 3-4 liters of water everyday from 7am-5pm, and then more when I get home from work, was eating regularly (and healthy) and it didn't help it. Hopefully your will go away, but you may end up needing to switch meds if they don't end up going away. I haven't had any drop off headaches since switching...in fact, I don't notice a drop off at all. But that's of course, my 2 cents! :)

Is there any difference between Vyvanse and Adderall XR in terms of helping with ADD?

Thanks!

i haven't noticed a huge difference except the vyvanse seems like it lasts longer. Both have helped me focus better, without causing me to hyperfocus and have dramatically decreased my fidgeting and moving so much. I think the vyvanse has been a little more effective in this, but it could just be me. My brother in law hated the vyvanse. But I think it's been great. I thought the Adderall was great though, until I changed...lol

There is not much that can be done to completely get rid of the effects of the medication wearing off, it is the natural process of the brain down-regulating various neurotransmitters (mostly serotonin I think) that causes a lot of the after effects, it takes a little while for the body to turn the volume back up (up-regulation?) to get things back to normal levels. from my experience, caffeine does make it works, I can barely touch the stuff anymore, makes me very jittery if I do. since you just started, give it a few more days, your body will adjust quickly and some of the symptoms should diminish somewhat.

Tai Chi, stretching (or yoga) works great for me. some good quality magnesium helps for muscle aches and Omega-3 and L-Tyrosine are the best vitamins I have found so far to minimize that "space-out" mental feeling.
