Any resources anyone can offer in my area would be so helpful.

Right after being diagnosed a year ago I was dropped from my insurance and am now unemployed ... sigh.

I'm looking 'clinics' or sliding scale docs. Possibly a non-profit group or one of the colleges.

I'm trying my best to research but it feels never ending. I'm about the worst that I've ever been now and should really be taking meds. Just need to start somewhere!

Even group therapy ... Like I said any words of wisdom will be much appreciated. I'll will also post this in the main forum :)

You might want to check out CHADD. There seems to be a lot of activity there in San Diego with this organization. This link is to the screen that lists the CHADD groups there: http://www.chadd.net/template.cfm?affid=403&p=about If that page doesn't work, the main screen is http://www.chadd.net

Here where I live, they only meet once a month. I went to this month's meeting. If the facilitator doesn't have some direction to point you, chances are one of the other people at the meeting might. I'm sure each group is totally different.

Hey I just moved from San Diego to Oceanside, the best psych ever is Dr. Richard Heidenfelder. He takes all insurances but he only charges $60. per visit and he treats ADD ADHD, he is on 4th avenue downtown. He rocks!!!!!11

Is it really only 60 dollars a visit? I do not have health insurance either and was diagnosed as a kid however my parents were against drug treatments at that time. I may have to give him a call tomorrow...
