Based on your experiences with Adderall, when (if ever) did you feel that you needed to up the dosage, or switch from IR to XR (or vice versa)? And I amend that also with what did you feel?
I have only been on XR 10mg once a day for under a week, so I know it is way too soon to come to conclusions... It just feels that it is wearing off early in the afternoon, when I still have work or homework to do. I have an appointment with my doc Nov. 4th to talk about my dosage, btw, so I will be talking to him eventually. I'm just looking for opinions. Thanks!:)

Well hello! I'm in the same boat as you, just recently started my medication, actually! I've been reading up on the internet, and asking questions everywhere about all sorts of medications.
I've been on 20MG XR for two weeks now, and I'm just the opposite, I feel I should be on 10MG IRx2. The first four hours are fine, but the second dose starts to roll in and make me mildly nauseous.
I'm also one of those people that can roll over, get out of bed for ten minutes, go back to sleep and forget that I ever woke up. This led to a double dosing one day. From 20MG XR to 40MG XR.
I have two kinds of Adderall Days, as I put it. Day Ones, and Day B's.
On 'Day Ones' I feel alert, attentive and able to complete tasks. I can still shift focus randomly if I want to, and I still have maybe one or two times per day that I do just have random moments.
On 'Day B's' I feel drowsy, I am slow but able to complete tasks and I can still pay attention. I do not really shift focus much, but I do have almost a hyper-focus where I can't 'not' pay attention.
I find that Day Ones happen without breakfast, and Day B's happen with it.

I seem to have exhibited a pattern of increasing my XR dose 10mg per 2 years, now that I look back on it. I really cant say what I felt, I just kind of felt it was time.. my gpa would begin to slip each time though.
The usual titration process is to keep going up until the negative side effects outweigh the benefits. You may do fine at 'x' dosage amount for a while but it really may not be truly benefiting you to the maximum.
Most doctor's from my experience (and others here) seem content with quickly finding some set dosage and making you stick to it.

i seem to have the same situation with 'adderall days' !
having been on XR for some time, i would say stick with it for a bit. taking it with food and staying hydrated help a lot, i find.
I used to take the IR for years, just recently it got to be a pain b/c i got in the habit of drinking diet coke / red bull like crazy, i felt like i was ****ing it all away.. lol .. but now im off that
