Wondering of someone can tell me if feeling a lil "high" about 3 hrs after taking is normal in the beg? I also feel a lil sweaty and dry mouth on XR for the first day dose. Is this normal? I feel more motivated but a lil overwhelmed also on all that has to be done in my house ....its so bad.

I usually feel a bit of a high within the first hour of taking it. That fades for me and I feel it less so now than I did on the first day. I'm on IR if that makes a difference.
My worst side effects happen when the pill wears off. I get sleepy, headaches and pressure in my head and anxiety and pressure in my chest. If I can keep busy, I'm ok, but if I let it get to me, the anxiety worsens and I have trouble relaxing.
While not a miracle pill, I am able to stay on task longer and I seem to be able to fight the urge to divert my attention a little easier, but again I still struggle. I am also better able to force myself to get back on task, but I'm not sure if it's the med or my determination to fix my problem.

thanks for the feedback....good to know on the crash ;-( Im soo not looking forward to that part...will post when I have some info to share after the evening tonight ;-)
Veggymel, how much is your dosage of XR?
Keep in mind that the first 2 weeks (at least) for any medication is going to be much different than thereafter, since it is during those two initial weeks that your body is adjusting itself to the new levels of dopamine, norephinphrine, seratonine,..etc. Feeling, overwhelmed and a little sweaty is nothing too serious, I experienced more severe side effects when I first started adderall, but I think you should call your docter and express any concerns you have with him, in case you do experience a side effect that isn't normal.
During the first 2 weeks its very common for people to feel sweaty, slightly nervous, minor headaches, cloudy mind,... etc. The side effects will slowly die out and after like a month or so, you'll only feel the theraputic effects of adderall without any nasty side effects. :)
Also the "high" you mentioned, i'm not sure what your refering to, but if your refering to the slight euphoria and altered conciousness, then yes it is normal, but also depends on your dosage. The altered conciousness is just your mind entering a whole new, and higher dimension of reasoning that previous wasn't able to do so with all the lack of attention. :) Hope this helps.

yeah.. you get those side effects. the dry mouth feeling goes away eventually. It's called 'cotton mouth'.. don't ask me why, I just think it's funny. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids. water is better. I take 40 milligrams a day split 20/20 morning and lunch time. It's been a couple of months and I have to say it has done wonders for me.

Hey samm....I am on the XR 10mg to start....thanks so much for the info. I feel alot better now this afternoon it was certainly a euphoric feeling, thankfully it was only intense for a lil while. Also...I mostly notice today that I have no appetite (is fine by me since I gained 20 from proxac this past few yrs lol)...and I probably accomplished more today around the house than I normaly do all week without feeling like I was in a mad rush because there is so much to do. Most times I cant even get anything started and if I do, it never gets finished. Here is hoping to more good days ahead and TY to you also Tachyon ;-)

I had loss of appetite with Concerta. I hated that because I like to eat good food. I don't need to lost weight, so I'd rather just be able to eat without feeling nauseous! Thankfully Adderall hasn't affected my appetite.

well....no problem sleeping last night at all...I did stay up way later than normal tho, typically I am falling asleep on the couch at 8/9pm from daily strain of trying to get everything accomplished. I was up till about midnight and went to sleep fairly easily and even stayed asleep all night for the most part. I woke up this am with VERY dry mouth and a slight headache, no biggie. Never had any crash yesterday at all. Hoping today goes as smooth and I get more done around here ;-) One thing worries me, I hardly ate at all yesterday and it just seems like eating that little would make you sickly..I ate a yogurt, a nectarine and a hotdog all day. VERY MUCH LESS than my normal. I just had no appetite at all and feel the same this morning, had a bowl of cereal to make myself eat before I get less hungry with my new dose this morning.
