Yes another Adderall dosage/concern thread. I started my addy on Friday, 20mg, 2 times a day generic IR. This is my first script for Add, Friday I felt GREAT, Saturday was pretty good and each day after it seems the effects are weaking... Today I feel nothing, I took it this morning like normal, no buzz, and my concentration is not very good, my brain is not processing like it was when I first started. I honestly don't even want to be at work today..

The only thing I did differently is I did not have any coffee this morning. I have known for a few weeks that I would be starting a presciption so I have been tapering off over this time. I was down to one cup in the morning. I read that coffee is counter productive to adderall, as caffeine consticts blood flow, and adderall is trying to increase it. Could this be why I feel nothing or do I need to call my Doc about increasing the doseage?

I will say that I'm not expericancing any sides, I sleep like a baby, I am eating, no nervousness, nothing... Actually I am peeing allot cause all the water I am drinking.

I'm lost.....

drink plenty of water. I keep a 1 liter bottle with me at all times. The initial surge of mental sharpness is your mind entering an ordered phase to quote someone else here. The medicine will not do everything for you though.. you have to work at it as well, and the medicine is there to hold your hand. I found out that the medicine will work very well at whatever you give your mind into, in my case I had such a funny panic attack, my wife told me "sit down tweety bird" and made me do mental and breathing exercises and the panic was gone... just like that.

I don't expect the meds to do everything for me, I do expect them to be somewhat predictable though. Every day I have felt different, I am taking adderall so I can focus, finish task, and not be so irritable all the time. My wife has seen a huge improvment so far, and I have as well, until today. I am still seeing a psychologist for behavior therapy, working out, and eating healthy.

Point in case is the fact that I am on here posting when I should be working!

I am on 40 milligrams a day. I don't feel it anymore like in the beginning. Only way I can tell is by results. my life has improved dramatically. I can start and finish things, no more daydreaming or zoning out when people are speaking to me etc...

I kept a journal of how I performed before the meds to help guide me when I talked to the doctor. I still keep that journal to see if/how things have changed. Also to document my side effects so I can talk to my doctor about them. It might be a useful tool for those days when you don't feel like it's working.

I read an article on time management that said to take a week and document every instant that you change your activity. The purpose is to determine where your time is going. Whether you're working, getting coffee, using the bathroom or surfing the internet, be honest. No one has to see it but you. You can see whether your time working is improving. It's also motivation to keep you on the right track when you can see exactly when you divert.
