I've been reading threads here for the past few days and I think I may have found whats wrong with me all these years. Here's a little about myself .Please let me know what you think. I am 33 years old.I have never in my life been able to sit still. I have to shake my legs or head or fiddle with something all the time, even in bed. I have to rock my whole body to be able to sleep if I dont my body will hurt.I have always felt out of place, like I dont matter as much as other people and I will do anything to try to make others happy. Sadly I have learned over the years that I can't make anyone happy. When I do something I always feel like I have to hurry, even now while typing this my hands are shaking tring to type as fast as I can.i hate doing new things I get horribly nervous and have trouble listening to directions.I have to ask many times how to do something and then I feel stupid. When I was younger I would pass out from being so nervous at school. When I have blood drawn now or any painfull procedure I will pass out and have seizures.I'm on meds for anexity and depression. The panic attacks have decreased but I still feel like I have to rush and still do everything I descibed. There is more but I cant remember anything else. What do you think?

Well, I'm not experiencing what you do, but some of what you say about it hurting when you can't keep moving all the time sounds very much like a lot of the persons I've met who has ADHD with a very large, severe H.
It could also be other things, but I think it's definately worth having checked out.
Good to have you here - I hope you'll be able to have that theory looked into very soon and if you in fact DO have ADHD, get some meds that work really well for you.
The passing out doesn't sound like ADHD to me, but I am not very knowledgeable on hyperactivity. I'm sure there are a bunch of people in here who can help you out with suggestions to what may be wrong - maybe besides ADHD.
A lot of us have developed comorbid disorders or just "had them from the beginning" like OCD, PTSD and the like, and maybe someone recognizes these specific symptoms and is able to link them to ADHD or something else.
Good luck! :)

Thankyou for the reply. I also forgot to mention. My son has adhd and my daughter has very mild add.I can also get very hyperfocused on one thing so much so that I have trouble doing anything else.I have spoke with many doctors about things that i deal with. No one has ever mentioned that I may have adhd , It seems strange.

Have you mentioned the possibility to your childrens' doctor, the one that made their diagnosis? Even if they won't diagnose you themselves, there's a good chance they can give you the name of one of their colleagues who diagnoses and treats adults with ADHD. I'd try that approach if I were you.
After all, ADHD seems to have a pretty strong genetic component as I understand it. :)

Welcome, horsehead!
I was just diagnosed ADD inattentive last month (at age 31), so I'm still in the process of learning all I can about the disorder and what works best for me when it comes to managing ADD.
I agree with the suggestion to see if your children's doctor could provide you with contact information for someone who tests for adult ADD. Or, since you're already on meds for anxiety and depression, ask your current doctor about being tested for ADHD.
Best wishes!

HI
I would suggest you also have your thyroid checked out, just in case, as that can also make you 'rushy'.
Im no expert on whether you have add though as Im just learning about it myself :)

Thanks kimmy, I have had that checked and numerous other tests. So the doctor said she couldn't find anything wrong with me and we decided to try meds for depression and high blood pressure.
