Hi. I was taking 80mg of strattera, 40 in morning, 40 around noonish in addition to my other medications; lexapro, seraqual, and camparal. Due to financial reasons I've had to talk to my doc about lower cost or generic versions of my meds, apparently there isnt a generic version of strattera on the market so my doc is switching me to wellbutrin, i believe 100mg 3 times a day. I was wondering if anyone out there has taken both or has made this switch themselves? Also, I'm in the middle of a semester at school and have concerns about wellbutrin taking a month or more to kick in. Any help/info is appreciated. Anyone know what the lowest cost add med is?

Adderal IR and Dexedrine IR are both very cheap, and they are also probably the most effective ADD meds out there for most people. Only problem is they don't last long so you will have to take them 2-3 times a day. That and it's harder to get a prescription.

Wellbutrin helps, too, but not nearly so much. I take adderal + wellbutrin and that works well for me.

Strattera just seemed a lot like Wellbutrin when I tried it...except with a whole host of really ****ty side effects that made me quit it almost immediately.
