What a pain in the butt it was to get these. My first doctor was the one that got them for me, but he forgot about me 3 weeks in a row and kept holding out on writing the prescription!

Anyway, mom put her foot down and called for the millionth time to get him on task. (hello, ADD doctor - at least that's how it seems)

So today I took my first Adderall. I broke the 10mg in half, took 5, felt nothing and took the other 5. I don't feel any different. I don't know if the stuff I'm doing is from a placebo affect or the adderall.

Either way, I cleaned quite a bit of my room today. Yay. Did a larger dent in it than I have in well over a year. (You'd vomit if you saw the mess I let myself live in.)

No bad side effects thus far. Took 5 mg 2 hours ago and the other 5 an hour ago. Felt some chills like any med will give me. That's about it.

edit: it's generic IR. 10mg a day (guess he's just seeing if it works for now)

Thanks to both of your for posting this. I just got "approved" by my insurance for my XR so I'll be giving it a try.

I am always reluctant to try putting anything new in my body but your posts give me some comfort.

We'll just keep our fingers crossed then.
The cleaning up bit sounds hopeful already.

YW Dave.... I am alot the same way, that is why up until now I have only taken one medication in the last 5 yrs. When you have tried so many meditcations in the past it tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth and I lost my faith in many doctors. My most recent doctor for the past 6 years has helped me a great deal, so I have learned to trust him first and foremost. I have also shed alot of my "what if" fears and that helps when taking a new medication - esp with such a potent drug like amphetamines. I was really nervous since I have a bad history with anxiety, depression and OCD. I logged my first 3 days in a journal every few hours to see what side effects I had and if any should be concerning ( I HAVE to write it down, cant concentrate on the facts otherwise lol)... it was apparent that I was getting less of the side effects each day ;-) I pretty much have to babysit the process lol...just one of my wonderful quirks hah!
