Hello.

I have been treated for Bipolar disorder for the last year and nothing has really worked. Lamictal makes a slight dent on the depressive side and that is what I am on right now.

Antipsychotics and other mood stabilizers have done nothing for my manic bouts. Today my PDoc probed about my manic side. I told him how the main features were irritability, lack of focus and hyperactivity/feel like jumping out of my own skin.

He then asked about my comorbidity with ADHD and I told him how I had been diagnosed with that a while back. He decided that he wanted to try something different and treat the ADHD. He added Adderall 10mg in morning and afternoon to my treatment.

Is there anything I should know in this kind of situation? Has anyone here been treated for Bipolar and ADHD at the same time? How did it work out? Can Adderall help me?

Thanks.

Also, how long should one pill of generic Adderall last?

I was on a Strattera/Lamictal combo for a while. Then just Strattera. Then Concerta. Now Ritalin. I found the stims nail most of my issues. I'm prone to wild swings of mood either way, but with Ritalin / Concerta (even Strattera) I've the spaces between thoughts to really curb my impulsivity; even in a bad mood I'm unlikely to do/say anything too compromising
