View Full Version : Chinese Zodiack sign
MightyMouse 03-18-04, 12:23 PM LivingwithADD had a poll on astrological signs with gave me a good idea. What is your chinese zodiak symbol?
To get your respective sign, pick the animal below that corresponds to the year you were born.(It basically works on a 12 year cycle)

Dragon: 1928. 1940. 1952. 1964. 1976. 1988. 2000

I'm a dragon!!!
"People born in the Year of the Dragon are healthy, energetic, excitable, short-tempered, and stubborn. They are also honest, sensitive, brave, and they inspire confidence and trust. Dragon people are the most eccentric of any in the eastern zodiac. They neither borrow money nor make flowery speeches, but they tend to be soft-hearted which sometimes gives others an advantage over them. They are compatible with Rats, Snakes, Monkeys, and Roosters."
Sorry E-boy ;)
fasttalkingmom 03-18-04, 02:29 PM I'm a Rabbit.......
it say :
They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.
Funny, I did marry a dog....;)
Nucking_Futs 03-18-04, 02:40 PM I'm an Ox
People born in the Year of the Ox are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed. They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people.
lol OMG this describes me to a T when it comes to being remarkable stubborn and easily angered.
joanrdtobe 03-18-04, 02:42 PM I'm a rooster.....says I have difficulty with relationships, am eccentric, a deep thinker, capable, talented, deeply disappointed if I fail, etc. All pretty true...
MightyMouse 03-18-04, 04:30 PM For the record and since I started this thread, I am a tiger:
"Tiger people are sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy. They can be extremely short-tempered, however. Other people have great respect for them, but sometimes tiger people come into conflict with older people or those in authority. sometimes Tiger people cannot make up their minds, which can result in a poor, hasty decision or a sound decision arrived at too late. They are suspicious of others, but they are courageous and powerful. Tigers are most compatible with Horses, Dragons, and Dogs "
Their are other descriptions of tiger that fit me better, but this one is fairly accurate (especially the 'sensitive' and 'challenging' parts). I get a kick out of the fact however, that my real name in Chinese means "horse" and the chinese spelling (i.e. symbol) is the same as for horse. Weird, huh?

Well, I did once compare myself to a big friendly labrador here didn't I? Serves me right. I suppose I'd best head home, lift my leg on the potted plant out front and crap on the carpet...
Yep, it's the rolled up news paper for me tonight fer sure. It certainly does explain why I spend so much time in the dog house! IT'S HOME!
1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006
People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other peopleˇ¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.
Things that make you say HMMMMM... "HMMMM" Not sure how well this fits. I darn sure don't always seem to have money!
Oh, stop that Kassie! Keep that up and I'll poop on your lawn!
wlfbear27 03-18-04, 07:13 PM I'm a rabbit and my wife is a horse. That just paints a wrong picture in my mind lmbo

<~~~~~~~ Draco the Dragon!!!!!!!!!!!
E-boy- Last I look Dragons eat Dogs for breakfast :D
Ever hear it's best to let sleeping E-boy's lie? Even dragon's don't like stepping in you know what! Beside's I'm a big dumb swedish dog and I don't take no crap on no dragon's! So n'yah!
Did ya ever notice there aren't any dragons in swedish mythology? Lots of big dogs though. Heh. :-)
MightyMouse 03-19-04, 04:48 PM I thought swedes were originally associated with the ango and saxon [ie. nordic barbarian] tribes that invaded England in the 5th Century. If so then they have a lot of dragons in their art and history of that time period. That's why their are dragon symbolisms in celtic art as well.
MM
The norse are more closely associated with the Normans, believe it or not, than the angles (anlgos) or saxons who were germanic tribes and not Norse. They had royal ties through marriage and bloodlines with the norman kings.
They did carve Dragons on the prows of their long boats, but truly Trolls, Giants, and Dogs occupy much more interesting places in their mythology than dragons. ;-)
That's because we Dragons live forever - you dawgs just splash yourselves all over pages so you're not forgotten - and anyhow, read your Ursula LeGuin, E-boy - there are some of the most serious Dragons there you EVAH saw (yes, I'm a little punchy tonight ...)
I was born in 1961... an Ox!
p.s. ... maybe that's why hubby thinks I am so bull-headed!:D
Nah, A few over-sized gecko's with heartburn hardly makes what I'd call a dragon... They do have some terrible breath though! I think it inspired the creation of the Tic Tac.
As for living forever... *E-boy looks around....* Nope, no dragons around here. Now, as I seem to, most assuredly be here, and be very much alive, I'm thinking I am going to go make like a live dog and pee on something in gratitude for not being a dead dragon. :-)
Ahem, like I said... Arf, Arf baby.
And for the record, I am just being difficult for it's own sake. Lest anyone not have caught on to that yet. ;-)

I'm a Rabbit.
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky.
Hmmm. Well, I do have excellent taste... not so sure about the rest! ;) I married a Rooster, which is not supposed to be a compatible sign.
Hey Paul, Dragons are compatable to Monkeys :D

aneededchange 01-02-05, 01:14 PM I am .... :
People born in the Year of the Horse are popular. They are cheerful, skillful with money, and perceptive, although they sometimes talk too much. The are wise, talented, good with their hands, and sometimes have a weakness for members of the opposite sex. They are impatient and hot-blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds. They are very independent and rarely listen to advice. They are most compatible with Tigers, Dogs, and Sheep.
My Fiance is...:
People born in the Year of Ram are elegant and highly accomplished in the arts. They seem to be, at first glance, better off than those born in the zodiac's other years. But ram year people are often shy, pessimistic, and puzzled about life. They are usually deeply religious, yet timid by nature. Sometimes clumsy in speech, they are always passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Ram people never have to worry about having the best in life for their abilities make money for them, and they are able to enjoy the creature comforts that they like. Ram people are wise, gentle, and compassionate. They are compatible with Rabbits, Pigs, and Horses.
I am a monkey, but one of my nicknames is Rabbit. Funny how that works out!
I'm not just any ol' dog either! I'm a Labrador! Friendly, dopey, and eager to please! WOOF!
