I'm on it for depression and ADHD, but it isn't helping the ADHD and only does a little bit for the depression aspect. Seeing as I've been on it for a little over 3 years, it could just be tolerance (I've gone from 75 mg to 300 mg of XL in that time)

Is it just not working for anybody else?

Sharkie, there are lots of threads about Wellbutrin on the forums. Wellbutrin by itself doesn't help my ADHD symptoms, but it helps the Ritalin I take work better.

I take wellbutrin, doesn't do anything for my adhd either, and i'm not really having synergistic affects with the stimulants, meaning i can't get a stimulant to work but I'm a hard case too.

I read your other post, and man if I knew I had adhd my entire life, I probably would have been depressed at 6th grade too, especially if my medication wasn't working. I know up until high school I was sooo shy, mainly because I couldn't understand relationships really well and I practically never knew what to say to people. Still I dont know what to say to people most of the time, think I used to do a hell of a lot better on meds with that, as I wasn't in a constant "go away looking" state. Not sure if you are more of a social butterfly, but I sympathesize in whatever depresses you. I reccomend playing a sport or getting a job if you don't already have one, sports will likely help stimulants specifically work and keep working, and keeping yourself busy give you less time to daydream. Try to avoid working at a fast paced job.

"He then perscribed me Provigil which he said would keep me awake and aware and focused instead of Ritalin, which would keep me awake but not nessesarially focused on what I needed to focus on" I find that hard to believe, almost as if I would switch the two ideas of what he's saying. Has it helped though?

If not you could always try dexedrine or see if adderall works again, or even vyvanse, they are delivered differently. Then of course there's focalin or daytrana, different forms and releases of ritalin. And then theres strattera. Strattera can be used with a stimulant so you could always try two at once-woohoo!

That's exactly how I was/am. It's depressing to think how much I have missed simply because I just had no idea how to relate to people.

I can't decide if Wellbutrin is really working for me or not. I have taken it for about a month now, along with generic Dex. I also have OCD and social anxiety issues, as well as generalized anxiety and depression from time to time.

I can identify to the whole relational issue. It is a chore for me to converse with new people very often. Not sure where that comes from, but I just allow myself a fair amount of down time every day.

The problem I think I experience at times with Wellbutrin and Dex is anxiety. Very often I am triggered and then the anxiety has a momentum all its own. That might be more due to the Dex.

I am considering taking a small dose of an SSRI along with Wellbutrin to counteract the anxiety. That and of course a sleeping pill so that I can sleep through the night. Oh, and the occasional Ativan. Four drugs. LOL

Maybe I can just get by with a small dose of an SSRI without sexual side effects. Zoloft eventually went very bad on me with hives, extreme sun sensitivity and sexual isses. I remained sensitive to the sun for more than a year after stopping to take the drug. Thankfully, that is no longer an issue.

hey, my doc gave me a tricyclic doxepin, works really well with anxiety almost right away and sleep :), then it helps with depression as it builds up in a few weeks or so Just a words up, and its a hell of a lot better than zoloft
