I was wondering about interactions between medications and supplements.

I'm currently taking Dexedrine and Celexa, as well as Flax seed oil and a multi-vitamin.

I want to add on Selenium, CoQ10, ALCAR, NAC, Ester-C, and Lipoic acid.

I'm not sure how the addition of these supplements will affect my medications.

Ester-C could lower pH. ALCAR as well since it would be hydrochloride. Lipoic acid maybe would lower pH too. NAC maybe too.

Adding potassium bicarbonate could neutralize the above.

Lower pH = Reduced effectiveness of d-amp

But avoiding the supplements plus or minus 30 mins around d-amp doses should avoid the problem.

I wonder how else the supplements could affect my meds.

Was thinking of adding a beta blocker. I know beta blockers could suppress CoQ10.

Any comments?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I tried Fish Oil while on Paxil (it's the only drug I'm on now), and it made me irritable. It even began causing slight mood swings after a month of daily use.

It might just be the fish oil, though. How would one ever know...
