Hi Everyone. Its day 3 into my ramp up (started at 25mg for 7 days). Just some history, I ALWAYS knew (Im 35) I had AD/HD with anexity, but never went to the Doc (Pills are for wimps and Head Doc's are for really crazy people).

I got tired of fighting the battle so here I am.

Soooo, its day 3 and this is what I think.
1. I can tell an improvment in my work and life. Im able to track a little more at work and I'm not near as excitable. The anexity(Im such a great speller) is better. I dont feel AS overwhelmed and I hope this trend continues. Im not as distracted at work and the irriation at being disturbed is easing up. In a nutshell, I feel like I can focus on one task more,,make sense????I was a 4 task at a time kinda guy and they all suffered.

2. The Doc gave me Lexapro samples also. 1/2 tab for a week. Im dropping this untill the Strattera has a track record.

3. Side Effects: Good God at the cotton mouth (I love water now), Today I noticed some hot flashes and increase in pluse (Like the onset of anexity without the anexity,,ya know?? A queasy feeling on and off during the day. Im a night owl, but I have been waking up every few hours, then sleeping very deep. Ok,,now the big one. Impossible to have on orgasm, after I use ever trick in the book to set the stage to have an orgasm (Lack of Libido?)

4. If your new like me, please take the side effects in context. Its not a 24/7 battle with them. They just drift in and out. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would grade my overall experience a 8.5 to 9. I am willing to gut out the few weeks it will take to get adjusted to a medication based on the positivites so far. I plan on giving this a fair and honest try. The worst that can happen is that if the side effects get worse over the next few weeks, I quit! But so far, its improved my quality of life. I will give an update in a few days if the Admin on the site lets me.

5. Its easy to get discouraged reading all the bad experience post. I think that alot of people are helped so much, there not surfing the net at night. They are enjoying LIFE! BE POSITIVE!

Thanks

As your dosage of strattera increases you should notice a bigger difference (your Dr may increase the dose to 100mg or more, depending on it's effectiveness). I'm told the side effects diminish with time. The lack of libido is more likely due to the Lexapro than the Strattera (SSRI's sometimes do this, it's fairly common) but in Strattera it's not so common (yet - it's a new drug after all, and of course drugs work differently in different people).
Thanks for the update, and keep us informed!
Regards,
Greg

Thanks for posting your side effects, my son is only 5 and just started and i'm not sure he'll know to tell me if he has cotton mouth, etc. But reading what adults have to say should help me know what to keep in mind.
thanks and good luck
