I have a friend at MIT who has turned me on to some of the "brain performance enhancers" those intense students take over there. After some pretty exhaustive research, I've taken inventory of my particular ADD problem set and ordered my first set (pyritinol and galantamine - there are a BUNCH but I thought it better to start conservatively, like the doc always says).

Anyone had any successes or failures they can/would like to share?

Nootropics are basically a blend of vitamins and/or plant extracts that are supposed to assist w/various brain functions.

(Example - there is something called "picamilon" that is niacin (a vitamin) bonded to GABA (an amino acid) but the way it's chemically bonded makes it behave differently - and change more brain functions - than if you took niacin and GABA separately.)

If you run a Google search or look on smart-nutrition.net, there are lots of scientists there who can explain it better than I can.
