I was wondering what medicine psychs usually prescribe to start you off?

If he suggests strattera I will ask for something else, because im hypoactive and need a stimulant.

Im hoping he trys Adderall or dexadrine, or maybe vyvanse.

If warranted after the evaluation, a knowledgable doctor will usually start with a long-acting stimulant (unless you don't have insurance and/or can't afford the new long acting meds). That said, the usual starting choices have always been either Adderall XR or Concerta. Now, it's probably Adderall XR or Vyvanse or Concerta.

I was prescribed Adderall IR my first time

It really depends on the doc. Some are more comfortable with certain meds or think ____ is the best starting point. Many will give you a couple options.
As mentioned above, it's likely to be Vyvanse, Concerta, or Adderall XR but every doc is different.

Mine went Concerta, then Adderall IR, then I asked for Dexedrine. He suggested Vyvanse but I'm not interested in long acting so I asked to try Dex first, and I like it.

You might be able to steer things a little by letting him know if you're interested in a long acting med, or would like to try something shorter acting. For example, I have an erratic schedule so long acting isn't my cup of tea. After Concerta, I let my doc know this so we went with Adderall IR instead of XR.

Vyvanse wasn't out yet at that point or I think he probably would have started there.

These drugs really shouldn't be used for their stimulating properties, at least not for ADHD. However, many seem to do this, so I am certainly not going to tell you not to...
