View Full Version : adderall didn't do much for me. junetown 11-09-08, 06:35 PM i'm considering asking my doctor if i can try ritalin. did any of you find success with ritalin after finding adderall unsuccessful? junetown 11-11-08, 12:39 PM no one? :( Howard_C 11-11-08, 12:55 PM Do you mean unsuccessful as in "no benefits" or unsuccessful as in "a bad reaction" ? What benefit are you tying to achieve ? Did you notice anything on Adderall that seemed dose dependent ? junetown 11-11-08, 01:17 PM i didn't notice much on adderall. basically i could keep on task, but i couldn't focus any better, pay attention any better, still forgot things left and right. so i'd be doing something for hours, while my mind was wandering all over the place. it killed my boredom problems, basically, but helped with nothing else. 10mg iR seemed no different than 20mg IR. i had no bad reaction, though i do have a small bald spot on my scalp that's either from meds or from halloween wig wearing, lol. the hair is coming back in so its not a big deal. sometimes i had headaches. besides that adderall kept me awake and kept me from getting bored, unfortunately no focus or motivation or anything else. i can't afford to up the dose to see if 30mg would work better, because i cant afford 30mg x3 a day. i just want to know if ritalin has worked for some even when adderall seemed to not do much. junetown 11-14-08, 12:39 PM i guess i really thought there'd be some people out there who found that one worked and the other didn't. either that or my post is too boring. i don't know. Grey Kameleon 11-14-08, 02:37 PM I've had the same problem. I liked it at first because, well, I could sit for hours and barely move. But that was pretty much it. I would rather be a little overactive and be able to concentrate than be a zombie. Adjusting the does didn't help much. What manufacturer is your Adderall from? I take Corepharma and think it's probably an inferior brand. Still, there's no guarantee that another brand wouldsolve the problem. junetown 11-14-08, 06:49 PM i've taken barr and corepharma, neither seemed that different to me minus taste and i felt a little 'weird' (not wired) on corepharma at first but nothing else seemed off. i wonder if i'd be wasting my time to try ritalin. DesertDave 11-15-08, 02:30 AM I tried both. Ritalin first, then Adderall. Neither did anything for my ADHD, that I could tell. When I titrated them up, I just got the basic speedy effects from them. Wired, edgy, jittery, sore jaws, etc. But they weren't exactly the same. Punch 11-23-08, 04:10 AM I think you should try Ritalin before giving up on ADD meds, I read for some people Ritalin works better than Adderall and for others Adderall is best pADDyjay 11-23-08, 05:02 AM Ive been on both and Ill stick to old reliable ritalin adderall made me sick good luck:) |
