Whenever I used Ritalin I felt depression and pessimistic. I also felt it really slowed my study progress.
I think I have found a solution. There is a supplement called Quercetin. This compound inhibits metabolism of alot of compounds, including Ritalin. Using Quercetin appears to block the depression and pessimism caused due to Ritalin. The compound may need to be combined with Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
This is how I use Quercetin. I take a half liter bottle. Optionally add 500 mg Vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Open a capsule containing Quercetin and sprinkle the content in this bottle. Shake well. Drink from the bottle every time you need it.
Now I feel Ritalin does not cause the "crash" feelings anymore, but it does make me concentrate better.
Uhm, taking Vit C with Rit will pretty reduce it's effectiveness - you're not supposed to take acidic supplements/food while on stims.

I think I have found something that works better then Quercetin and longer, it's soy milk.

I now take Ritalin together with soy milk.
It really works good.
There is less depression and pessimism. But I feel I can concentrate better.
I think Ritalin works really well if it's taken with soy milk (contains genistein and other isoflavonoids).
note: sometimes I take diosmin too.

When I first began ritalin doctors told my mom to not let me take orange juice. (I remember something about a doctor Feinnman or Goldman or something like that who had a diet for adhd people, and i think thats where it originated from (they also wanted me to stay away from artifical coloring in foods))
For the first 2 years on ritalin i would stay away from orange juice or oranges completely and instead drink I drank apple juice supplimented with vitamin c.
On a side not i did have depression as well.

Hmmm.never heard this about oj its self. Unless its full of colorings and preservatives......what they are talking about it the absorbic acid that can lower the effectivness of meds such as Adderall or Dexedrine. As far as Ritalin.....I still have seen or heard anything thats says its bad with absorbic acid.
