hello all. i went to the docs today, who prescribed me 30 adderall xr 10mg. he said that if i take well to the adderall (i did not to concerta) then he would up the dosage. said to call him in a week or so to let him know and he may tell me to take two pills a day. from what ive heard though, you can only fill one adderal script a month, so if i do go up in dose within the month, ill spend the rest of the month w/o any med. im just a confused man. any advice on this matter or what to expect from my first week on adderal would be greatly appreciated. thanks ya much.

a one month supply is a max of 120 pills (could be 90, im not 100% positive about the number exactly, but way more than 30) since you were only given 30, and at a low dose it is only a trial. what will likely end up happening is your going to end up taking 2x a day or so, and in about 2 weeks youll meet with the doc again, and get an an even higher script and fill it out again.
hope this helped

no adderall can only be perscribed 30 pills a month. its a controlled substance. but if he perscribed you 30 10mg and you go back in to weeks he can rite it out for a higer mg and you can get em filled. ive gotten 3 scripts filled in a month. 30 10s two wekks later 30 20mg irs and again two weeks later 30 30mgxr's

That's not necessarily the case, unless it is a state/local law, regulation or rule. Doctors do not like to write prescriptions for C-II drugs that fall outside the normal & accepted range because this can lead to questions about the legitimacy of their prescribing practices, but there is no uniform (federal) law or regulation that limits a practitioner to prescribing 30 doses of Adderall XR at a time--unless something passed recently that skipped my attention, and I doubt that's the case. Insurance companies often balk at paying for more than that though.

Not true. I was started out on 4 x 5 MG a day. So that means I got a 30 day supply which was 120 pills.

Same here - I'm at 6 x 5 mg a day, for 180 per month.

it's not only for the controlled substance issue, it's also for insurance purposes if your being covered by insurance.
