I am very new to medication so I am wondering can I have my Psych perscribe 1 med while my primary doc is perscribing another at same time.
I am on Vyvanse now but would like to try Adderall at least for a trial to see if it is better for me. I am not sure about all the confusion about 30 days and I know a little about these meds are strict. Just wondering which one may be better. I dont want to be stuck with Adderall or any other if I don't like it. Can anybody please help and answer? Thank you-

Dont take both at the same time!!
Tell the doc that is prescribing you vyvanse that your primary wants to try adderall so your going to for 30 days. Dont tell your primary about your psych untill the 30 days is over :)
But I doubt that either doc will be happy.. so its best to just tell them both about eachother and such.
Vyvanse is basically.. the med that isnt as abusable and is more easily prescibed..
Adderall is the one that is the high abuse drug.
So i would tell them and stuff. so they dont both take your meds away since you would look "drug seeking"

I would not try this unless both doctors know about it and consent, which is unlikely. There are systems in place to catch "double-dipping," and it can land you in a world of hurt. The effectiveness of these systems varies from state to state, but it is very illegal everywhere.
I don't think I would even try what Matman suggests as an option in the first part of his post (informing only one doctor initially); there's just too many ways this can turn out badly for you.
It is far too easy to get labelled a potential "seeker" and once you've got the label, it can stick to you like a tar-baby and make it very difficult to obtain appropriate treatment.

Yea, it's basically like "doctor shopping". Very very illegal. Also, if you are paying through insurance, I don't think they would be willing to fork over the money. They might also alert your doctors as well.
