Hi im new here. I just started adderall not too long ago and it really does help alot with everything. Im taking 20mg, I think ive built a tolerance though I have been skipping days. I took it all weekend but skipped monday and took it tuesday. Tuesday after i took it I didnt really feel any difference. I think I need a higher dose. How is adderall really supossed to make you feel? I hear about people saying how its changed their life and stuff and how it makes them want to clean and this and that. i know ADD people get bored really easily and I have that bad. No matter what Im doing Im always bored. I also have other conditions besides ADD.

Could you elaborate on your side effects when your first started? And, is this XR?

You may be subconciously seeking the euphoria that accompanies the dose for the few week or so. Do you still feel a mood elevation in the morning when you take it? It is beginning to taper off for me already, on only the third day.

Adderall, in the long run, will increase focus and make it less difficult to overcome physical fatigue to get a task done. It will also help to continue doing a task once its started, to finish it. After a while, the "hit" in the morning and the "crash" in the evening will smooth out as you build a tolerance.

In my opinion, Adderall is good for people who suffer from grogginess ("sleep inertia") and need a slight boost in the morning. However, it MUST be accompanied with sufficient sleep.

The compulsive cleaning that comes with Adderall may indicate too high of a dosage. Many people who don't have ADHD and use Adderall tend to develop this with the euphoria. Crashes after this can result in MAJOR depression.

Some things are simply boring to do. Work is boring (atleast for most of us). You have to put up with boring things in life, but that makes the fun things all the much better. A sign of not wanting to do boring things is not only a sign of ADHD, but poor self discipline. This is very difficult to work on.

Once you're used to it, consider Adderall a tool. If you REALLY want to increase the dosage, go right ahead, but over time (likely a few weeks), you will feel it "wear off." I do NOT reccomend that you continue to increase the dosage after that (this may show signs of addiction). I am doing weekend drug vacations to stave off tolerance slightly. You might want to consider this, as well.

Adderall does not change your life. Adderall, if it's the right drug for you, can make it possible for you to change your life, can get some of the roadblocks ADD throws up out of the way.

I've had a huge problem with boredom too, to where I couldn't even stand to do the dishes for more than two minutes at a time because it was so tedious. Most of the time, it was almost impossible to even make myself get up and start on them, because I dreaded it so much. Now, with Adderall, I still don't WANT to do them, but I don't have nearly as much problem getting started, and I can get all the way through without feeling like I'm going to choke on the boredom. But it's still up to me to choose to do them - the drug doesn't take over and compel me to do them.
