I think I'm crashing off the adderall.I felt okay earlier then started to feel a little more depressed as the night went on.I had a horrible headache for about two or more hours, it's starting to go away.
My enthusiasm is out the window at this point.

Is this normal?I'm hoping these side effects just go away after the initial two weeks.I'm probably going to try the meds without the fish oil tomorrow..I think it might be interfering somehow.

You might also want to put on your left sock before you put on your right sock. It might be interfering somehow.

The fish oil is fine and you are experiencing common side-effects of Adderall. Since you implied you haven't even taken it for two weeks yet, then don't get upset. The side-effects should go away after a few days. If not, then yeah, you should stop.

Right now it's just too early to tell. Hell, maybe you even caught a cold or something. Just give it a few more days.

More importantly, though, did you feel better during the day? Did you feel more focused?

Sorry to say, stimulant medication "crash" or "rebound" is a sad fact of life. It does vary from individual to individual. For me the medication lasts shorter than advertised and I can expect a serious drop-off in functionality when it wears off -- more than my unmedicated baseline. I lose almost all motivation and feel rather fatigued. Definitely a major trade-off. (I am on the downslope as I am writing this...)

How long have you been taking the medication? Have you told your doc about the headaches? If the headaches are severe it could be a flag.

I am aware of no interactions between fish oil and Adderal. I personally use both. I would encourage anyone with AD(H)D to use fish oil, period.

True. I would expand that to everyone, ADHD or not.

I had a lot of inflamation type effects as adderall wore off. Tylenol helped, but shouldn't be needed every night. I found shifting more of my adderall dosage to the morning helped. I took 10mg morning, 5mg before lunch, 5mg afternoon per day.

I still do this morning shifted dosage, but switched from adderall to dexedrine which also reduced rebound type effects.

Could someone explain the big deal about fish oil? I took it for a while along with Vitamin B and it didn't help at all.

Fish oil is rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids, which are essential (needed to be gained from the diet) fatty acids which are used in the synthesis of a number of important things within the body. As far as it's effects with adderall, it may be placebo but taking fish oil definitely isn't going to hurt your overall health.

Vitamin B (specifically B6) is used in the synthesis of Dopamine, which is one of the neurotransmitters released by taking adderall. By supplementing B6, you can attempt to encourage the replacement of the dopamine lost during the course of action of the drug.

As far as the crash sucking... boy does it. I would try taking a multivitamin, eating a decent meal, and getting some rest. These things should replace any vitamins/minerals lost throughout the day, help you relax, and curb any effects that hunger may play in making you feel bad (eating helps me sometimes, but not all the time). You can continue supplementing with magnesium or other vitamins such as B6 as needed or desired.

Find what works for you, stick with it. The crash should also go down over time.

I don't crash with Adderall if I time my doses correctly. Its effects last about 4-6 hours (although it has a half-life of about 10-13 hours). If you take your last dose at 2:00, for example, by 8:00 you might be crashing. But if you take a small amount later in the day, so it covers you up until you need to go to sleep, there'll be no crash. Just have to time it right so it doesn't keep you up all night.

If you're on Extended release it's a lot harder, but many psychiatrists will prescribe a late afternoon "booster" of an immediate release form along with extended release, to cover those hours after the extended release has worn off.

Wellbutrin, and Tyrosine prevent the crash. Timing is vital though, I take XL 300mgs at 2:00PM, so it has kicked in by 3:00pm when my meds start to wear-off. I take tyrosine in the AM w/Addy, and at 9:00PM on an empty stomache, then I consume lots of protien 20gms or more (Turkey, whole wheat bagles, 2 yogurts, milk). This facilliates the dopamine production so I am ready to roll in the AM. I also take fish oil and magnesium at night. In the AM before my Addy I take Tums and mag.
