You should not "feel" much from Ritalin. Rather you should find that the mental "itch" that goes with ADD settles a bit and you can get some work done. That you were saying less to your girlfriend means that you were possibly settling and weren't "down". Understand the pharmcological action of what you have taken. Normal ritalin has a plasma peak of 1-2hrs and half life of 4 hours.

I dont seem to have that itch or i have become so acustomed to it the past decade since removing myself from meds as a teen. I seem to function, in my mind ok, during normal times of the day but any task that requires attention i have none.

i been on ritalin since april 2004. i was taken off it for a month and put on vyvanse which i hated because it messed up my schedule and routine. i have adhd combined type and was diagnosed at age 16 and feb. 2001.

2nd day today was insane lol i accomplished more in 3 hours than i normally do in a whole day due to playing on the computer and googling every thought that comes into my head

Doesn't seem like a very productive day!
Reminds me of when I was still figuring out the right dose. "too low" is sometimes worse than "too high". For me, if the dose is too high then I just zombie out for a bit. It's a nice warm relaxed feeling, like your brain is sitting in an armchair in front of a log fire.
If the dose is too low, then I get the "kick" from the stimulant, but my thoughts are not calmed properly. It's like strapping a jet engine onto a push bike. It's a real rush, and you're going a hell of a lot faster than you ever thought possible, but you just know that it's going to end badly!
It'll take your body a while (probably a few weeks) to get used to the medication. You might not have a very clear idea how much you need to take until things settle down a bit. All I can advise is this: don't rush it, don't take more than your doc allows, don't increase your working hours, and avoid stressful/emotional situations. Good luck!
