Is it normal to be on the lowest dose of these meds and not feel anything? I took my pill this morning (8 am) and I feel absolutely nothing...it is now 1pm. What is going on?

What is the actual dose you took? And was it IR or XR?

Did you eat before hand? If so, what, and how long before? Or did you eat right after, and again, if so, what?

was it generic or real adderall? xr or ir? Did you drink orange juice or anything that has citric acid this morning? Soda?

It isn't generic adderall it is just regular adderall. I did eat before I had a can of this spicy tuna meal and a water bottle. I ate it about..hm.....a half hour before I took the pill.

What was the dose, and was it instant release (a tablet) or Adderall XR (a capsule wth little beads in it)? What does it say on the prescription label, or what color is the tablet/capsule?

If you aren't feeling *anything* on day 1, and unless you absolutely destroyed the thing with an incredibly acidic stomach, chances are the dose is just too low for your unique body chemistry to "notice."

Or, your expectations are far different from reality (in which case you would be feeling it, but not reall noticing it because it is not what you expected to feel).

That happened to me many years ago when I took a ritalin IR to try and stay awake, cramming for an exam. I had a pretty liberal doctor and he gave me a few because I was trying to do it on caffeine & other primitive OTC stimulants. I expected to feel "speed" and I didn't get that at all. I felt a bit of uncomfortable confusion, and it did not keep me awake.

I know what you mean. I just started yesterday on Adderall IR 10mg 2x's a day. I had been on Ritalin first, but it made me feel kind of like a zombie in the evenings. I thought that I would notice something with the adderall because I thought it was better for inattentives. I felt more with the ritalin. So I'm in the same boat as you. I think I'm going to call my doc and see what she says.
