I'm 45 and well into perimenopause.

I'm so tired of saying stupid things and people thinking I'm weird.

I'm tired of being perceived as an airhead and screwing up at work - even though I try very hard not to.

I'm tired of the weight gain around my middle which has never been there before

Perimenopause has just made all of these things worse and I'm just not sure how to deal with it. Anyone else going through the same thing?

I'm on Zoloft and Metadate, but it doesn't seem to be helping much these days.

Hello ADD and perimenopause sister!!

I am myself 45 yrs old and ADHD , going through similar experiences.
Nice hot flashes at the most worst time, i have the blues a little bit more, things get easely under my skin and hit a nerve. Well you know LOL

I always try to find natural way or with vitamins to help me cope with little things in life, well little or big lol..

Vitamine E works great for hot flashes, for me it did. But reading more into vitamin E it is not always good to take it for long period of time. So when i have an episode of hot flash , i take them once a day for about 1 week.

For my stress level i take a combination of vitamin b, iron, Vitamin D and vitamin C. Helps me calm down a lot.

It seems tho that all my ADHD symptom are getting worse, problem with memory, very very forgetfull, i was before but now it is worst.

Hope this can help you but there are a lot more stuff out there to help you.

Stef -

I gained 12 pounds in six months when I was 43. And it's not budging. It appeared around my midsection, which is unusual for me because I've always been a "pear" shape. Of course, with a weight gain, the bottom half of the "pear" got a little bigger, too. grrrrr

If youre tired of saying stupid things then do say em....

also, how do you know that YOU are really saying anything stupid to begin with??? I found when I stopped caring what people said and decided to push back (softly) when someone pushed (verbally) me first ...

funny thing, guess what?? they usually will leave you alone.....

also......how do YOU know that they think youre dumb?

Possibly they might be projecting their own self loathing and because you've never had the chance to have confidence in your life due to people beating you down "emotionally"

If you observe human behaviour....first you must stop observing your own

you will find something very interesting that....

in this dog eat dog world we have been conditioned to "kill off"
(metaphysically speaking, but literally if you observe how intelligent mammals behave, we are no different than or even less civilized than animals/mammals )

the weakest link or the "runt" of the litter....

Just watch how children treat one another if they think nobodys watching

In my personal search to understand not "who" I am but "what" I am and as an someone to whom has been told im stupid I have ADD this and that you see deep inside one thing we all have is an untapped resources that only a lucky few have and these aggressors seem to beat down on some of us out of fear (whether you believe me or not) why do they do it? Either they hate themselves or have been conditioned to attack what they dont understand or very possibly are jelious or envious of what they sense in you.

Remember sometimes what seems as "irrational" cannot be explained through consious logic behaviour, much of our pathologies (100% of all people) can be understood through subconsious vs consious modalities of behaviour.

Other words the problem is never evident at the "tip of the iceberg"

and you know what LacyLew? IM tired of saying stupid/weird things due to my inablilty of linking actual context of my ramblings with proper syntax in sequence according to semantic laws of communication:p

To translate YOU sound very normal not the at least bit strange to me,
you're square :D

Recommend this thread reply if you care to hear me ramble some more:D

Oh and almost forgot to say...if you have been on Metadate as of recent I'd talk to your drug dealer about getting on something that isnt so passive (from my exp) and with zoloft?!?! If you have any similar metabolic config that I have not that im a MD but those two types of drugs will make you feel more out of it.

When I first tried Metadate for about a month, I was on provigil, lexapro and adderal which made me feel like I was tripping balls (kinestheticly that is):p

Seriously, these MD's (including mine) need to experiment on themselves first before making these kind of recommendations..they're ruining a very good thing for us that its helping...

Alright..I'll shut up now.

Hi Lychweake -

Um, are you trying to say that zoloft and metadate together could make me worse?
