:)I finally remembered to make an appointment to get back on meds. I was diagnosed ADHD when I was 9. I was on meds until I was 16 when I decided to go off the meds. I am 24 now. Was alright, but probably would have been better if I stayed on meds, up until recently. Due to stress and life changes my symptoms seem to get worse and worse. I just kept on forgetting to make an appointment while they are open. I would remember at night or on weekends or maybe I was just scared. I don't want to go in there and seem like I'm just there to get "drugs". So it's been a while for me. What should I expect at the first appointment?

I am guess a lot depends upon your doctor - there is so much difference between doctors some just do an assessment based upon history while others do psychological testing - other have their own testing - so it is really hard for people give you a direct answer
Knowing your developmental history may help - like when you first learned to walk, talk
as well as you over all academic history - did you struggle in school
Did you mom have any complication during her pregnancy with you??
major injuries as a child major illness your self - family history of mental and medical problems - addictions.
Then socialization did you have problems there
Major issues hampering your ability to function as an adult
Some people find it easier to write any questions or concerns down as well as any specific problems you want top address on a piece of paper and take it with you because so many of us ADDer get into the doctors office and go into a brain freeze or sorts
Hope this helps some

Thanks :D I will make sure to get all the information from my mother (she keeps all my important papers so I don't loose them). And I will write out everything so I don't forget anything.

OMG I am so mad right now. I made the appointment back in late Nov. and it was scheduled for the 12th. So it only took almost 2 months. They called me the morning of the 12th to let me know that the doc called in sick so they had to cancel my appointment. I didn't even bother rescheduleing the appointment. I think I just need to find a new doc. It's sickening to wait 2 months for an appointment to just have it cancelled the day it was supposed to happen.
