So I'm on Dexedrine IR now, which I love, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to find the generic that I like (there is a big difference among generics). The two brand names and the best generic are no longer being manufactured, which leaves only two options for Dex, neither of which are very good.
This means that I might have to switch to Adderall the next time I see my doctor. After all, Dex won't do me much good if I can't find a pharmacy that stocks it. I'm very hesitant about Adderall, so I was wondering if anyone who has taken both Dex and Adderall could advise me.
If I did switch, I would take the instant release, as I've had bad experiences with extended release (Vyvanse was hell for me). How is Adderall different from Dex? I'm looking for experiences here, since I know what the differences are supposed to be.
I'm mostly worried about the Adderall crash that I always hear about. Dex was very smooth; it had almost no crash for me. On Dex, I never experienced any jittery feelings and I didn't feel medicated. I just felt like myself, except I could focus and get stuff done. With Adderall, would I have to expect that jittery feeling, and a bad crash when it wears off?
Also, are there any manufacturers (brand or generic) that are better or worse than others? I know with Dex, Barr has the worst reputation. Are any brands or generics difficult to find? I've heard that Adderall is also more expensive than Dex.
As you can see, I really don't want to switch meds, but I might have to. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
