So, yeah. Having found that a monthly dip in oestrogen levels pretty much annihilates what my stimulant medication can do for me, I started taking a combined oral contraceptive - the Pill - about four weeks ago, hoping to even out my hormone levels. It's a bit early to tell if it's working, but thus far I've noticed a number of issues that may point to magnesium deficiency.

I've experienced an increase in restlessness, causing me to blow a fuse at one point in a particularly AD/HD-unfriendly class. That night, both my legs (upper AND lower) cramped up so badly I broke into a cold sweat and became dizzy and sick to my stomach.

I intend to just stick with magnesium supplements for the time being, but I was wondering if any of you had been through this. Have any of you gals found a way of levelling out hormone levels without depleting essential minerals?

Apologies for "trespassing" in the women's section!! ... leg cramps (and restless leg syndrome too) usually indicate low levels of calcium, magnesium and/or potassium.

Birth control pills have all kinds of side effects. Wanting to kill people was one of them for me, and it had nothing to do with magnesium. It could be magnesium; then again, it could be your hormones all screwed up from the Pill.
