Whose kid has an obsession that drives you nuts. My ds is obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and the show. He likes all those Japanimation cartoons. Digimon, Pokemon, etc etc. Lets hear em!

My son is currently obsessed with Swords. He had a friend carve a "sword" out of a piece of wood he got. And he has been obsessed with sticks for so long, I can't remember him not being.

hehehe, that reminded me that my son is too. His grandma lets him get them whenever she takes him to the store, so they have to stay at her house or his poor siblings tend to become vicitims of his sword slinging play. Lol.

This is normal for my son... but then it's normal for me, so he comes by it honestly... :D :D :D

I always assumed the weaponplay was just the testosterone talking. I once foolishly thought I could ban such violence by not allowing any sort of weapon in the house, but he would just get all creative and problem-solvey on me and use a shoe or wooden spoon.

My almost 12 yo daughter started with the pokemon at age almost 6. I thought it would just run its course, so I have left it alone. Six years later, here I am hoping that peer pressure will work in my favor. That stuff is getting real tough to find at the store.

Hi, my grandson is obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh cards too. He took them to school till the teacher caught him and his mom took them away from him for a month. He collects them and begs me to buy them for him. I do for a special treat. Other than him taking them to school, it hasn't been a problem.
He justs like to look at them and keep them with him.

The new obession with my ds (7 years old) is Mighty Beanz. They are small plastic beans that look like the mexican jumping beans I played with as a child. Only these have different pictures and numbers so you collect and trade them. They have already had to ban them from school! Goodbye Yu-gi-oh hello Mighty Beanz!

I guess its pretty normal for kids to collect things. Kind of like trophies. I know that pretty soon my grandson will be collecting something else. But for right now I guess I will keep getting them for him. I wouldn't if his mom didn't say it was okay. But he loves them so.

My son never got into electronic games or the cards, probably because he dosen't do t.v. He is an outside kid. Tools were his first passion. He has an amazing tool collection. He likes audobon guides. And the latest passion sword and dagger and spear making. I bought him some lord ofthe rings cards for Christmas, he could care less it seemed.
