I have been checking some stuff out on the net and thought some of you might be interested.
Most of us are running on autopilot. We all need to become so much more aware of everything we do and say.

I can't listen to stuff at work, but I'd sure like to hear what this guy has to say because I can see where a lot of us end up on autopilot a lot.

You can read this one.

I think that the confusion which comes with needing to do so many things which we don't understand the need for
pushes us into automaton-like behaviour -
- it hurts too much to think about why?
- especially when we can't answer the question and this leads to not being able to perform the task -
leads to us getting into trouble
and no matter how hard we argue that the task is pointless to the bureaucrat who's sending out the fine$
allz we get
(at best is)
in civil service monotone
THAT IS THE SYSTEM
YOU WILL OBEY
OBEY OR BE ANNHILATED.
We have turned ourselves into the living dead -
which is where ADD fits in
For some of this generation, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_X thinking has significant overtones of cynicism against things held dear to previous generations ... ...-> stupid thing$

I think the interesting thing is that while yes, genes do control much of who we are and what our personality is like.... the genes actually react to how we perceive our enviroment.
so, who we are isn't written in stone. we actually control our genes to a large degree.
The first video in the op was very interesting, I can relate to the relationship part and it makes sense.
Don't know if anyone has heard of Bill Harris and Centerpointe Institute. I found out about him through a meditation program he sells. Well he also has an online course that I'm taking.......(none of which is cheap btw:()
Basicly he says that you can't do anything that doesn't serve you (smoking, losing temper, dating wrong ppl....etc.) if u do it consciously. So for example you know smoking is bad for you and you do it in response to stress or whatever, But if you are actually aware of the whole inner process (while u r doing it) that leads to you smoking a cigarette, then you would stop doing it.
So u can only do something that doesn't serve you (has undesirable results) if you do it unconciously.
It's not a very easy thing to do though, I'm trying to do it. I think it takes awhile and lots of practice.
The whole program is expensive. But I'm amazed at some of the material I have learned. Way of seeing self-impovement that I've never heard before.
Sorry if I hijacked. It just sounds very similar to what that guy said. :)

Don't worry about high-jacking. It's just a relaxed chat and sharing ideas.
