Hey all,
I am 38 was diagnosed with ADD. I take Ritalin (15 Mg morning, 10 Mg noon).
I am not sure the meds help all that much. I can focus a little more but I feel ‘fast’ when on the meds and if I take 15 MG at noon I shake a little towards the end of the day.

Anyone else like this?
Does food consumption help buffer the meds?

Ps…Poetic justice, I am a teacher! I should tell my parents that are against ADD or meds even though their kids CLEARLY have it, “If you want your kid to learn with ADD and no meds, I’ll teach them and grade their papers when I don’t take mine!”:)

For some it does help a little - citric acid will decrease ADD medications absorption though

I had similar experiences with Adderall. It was very tough start at beginning because the meds messed with my moods a lot. Then once I got over the inital issues, I had all kinds of problems managing my sleep.

Thankfully I started looking into other therapies. I found major improvements in ADHD symptoms after doing exercises based on the Interactive Metronome(IM). It usually costs about $1500-2000 with therapist, but there is also an easy way to do it at home for free.

Here's a quote from Edward Hallowell (author of Driven to Distraction) about IM: "The Interactive Metronome is spectacularly helpful. It is one of the most promising developments with non-medication of ADHD that's come along in a long while. . . . This is really solid, extremely helpful non-medication not only for ADHD but for mental functioning in general."

Just give it a shot, there's very little to lose.

Sadly you'd probably get fired for that, even though it is 100% pure awesome. =/
