I am pregnant and went off all my even-keeled medicines.

I'm in what I have dubbed the "vacation vortex" -- unstructured vacation time that leaks through my fingers like sand through the hourglass . . . :)

Now I am experiencing my ADD symptoms with a vengeance -- all the weird-noise making, forgetting what I wore yesterday, creating a mess in a blink, can't find anything, world in quantum physics five versions at once, no filter between my brain and my mouth, amotivational, reading a 500 page book in one sitting, never having anything ready for dinner, eating impulsively, no attention to the boring side of life, ADDish symptoms. I am driving myself crazy. I can't decide if I'm worse than I was before or if I was just so much better on meds that I can't believe how far I've fallen.

My foot has even started jiggling again -- I haven't done that for like, five years.

How's everyone else :)?

Okay first of all, take a BIG breath, maybe several LOL. You have just described a day in my life most EVERY day. I am not on meds though I was once. I find I can function almost as well without as with and I didn't like the side effects. Remember you can get back on your medicine as soon as the baby comes. You will not die because you aren't on medicine. Your best friend is called LIST and your second best friend is TIMER. Make a list of things that need doing. Set the timer for 15 minute and GO. Do not let yourself stop doing that thing for that whole 15 minutes. When the timer goes off, take 15 minutes (set the timer again) and do whatever you want, read, surf the net, call a friend..but when the timer goes off set it again for 15 minutes and get back to the next thing or the first thing if you haven't finished it..on the list. If you are making your list too broad, narrow the tasks down to small tasks. I find that helps me tremendously. If you mess up forgive yourself. If you feel bad, take a nap. It's not a test and you are not graded on it. But if you are like me you will love seeing progress and checking off your list. Oh and keep your list in a place you won't lose it. If you think of other things while you are working or resting, add them to your list. The next day, just start on the next biggest priority. Start small, you don't have to do this ALL day. Just taking a couple of hours and rotating the doing/resting in 15 minute intervals will reap amazing rewards! Hope I haven't rambled too much. :) This system has worked better for me than any other I have found. An accountability partner helps too IF you can find one. It is hard to find one that understands though and has the time. Good luck!!!
