I'm switching back from XL to SR. Previously, was taking 150mg x 2 SR and now taking 300mg x 1 XL. First, I didn't notice any huge difference between XL and SR. Second, with my insurance, the cost of SR is much less than XL.

Other than convenience, I not experiencing much difference with XL. It kind of "levels" me emotionally which probably helps depression. But, there are still bouts of anxiety. Not near as bad as when I first started on XL 3 months ago. But it's there none the less. As far as I can tell, it's not doing much if anything for any of my ADD symptoms. I'm seeing a doc next month for ADD diagnosis, so I figure if he wants me on XL, he can change my script then.

Was wondering if anyone else switched back to SR after a period of time taking XL. What happened? Side effects? Nothing?

GNBeg,

I am comparing the SR and XL, both 300mgs, and I am leaning towards the SR again. Why? I guess it appears to me that I get a more direct response with the SR, also I like the control of the SR. If I forget my dose, at the midpoint of therapy I can still take the SR 150, vs. the XL, where I will have to wait until the next morning. Also, I kind of like having to take the pills as it reminds me I am doing something for my ADHD, vs. taking a dose first thing and not having to take another WB until the next day. Finally, as I am in a layoff situation (aka, no income and mounting bills), the SR costs me $15 per 60 vs. the XL which is $20 for 30, not a big deal but when you are counting pennies - it all adds up.

Regards,
