What I have read about 5 HTP is to not take it with any prescription anti-depressants. You can prbably go to healthnotes.com and check on that though. Britawn Gregster 03-28-04, 03:54 PM "5-HTP" is serotonin, I think - or an isomer, or something. Serotonin is generally refered to as 5 HT or 5-hydroxytryptophan I can't think why you couldn't take it even with anti-depressants. I don't think that increasing the serotonin in the neurons of the brain is as simple as just taking more of the chemical, I'm sad to say. If it was so, there would not be as much money to be made selling drugs that do just that! With Concerta you just have to be careful not to take anything that might be stimulating - caffine, psuedoephedrine, ephedra, other stimulants - for fear of raising your BP or pulse rate too high. galexica2020 04-02-04, 09:32 PM I took the 5htp with concerta and I feel quieter and calmer. galexica |
