I dropped from 60mg to 40mg of Strattera for 2 weeks while starting 20mg ritalin. Then I'll go down to 20mg Strattera and still 20mg Ritalin. Am I likely to know if the Ritalin is working before I'm done the Strattera or will I have to be taking just Ritalin to determine what it is helping me with. I have to admit after reading some of these posts I am really freaked out about side effects and personality changes. Yikes.

I think after reading about different meds and some of the really unpleasant side effects I'm a little nervous about all the medications. I am switching from Strattera to Ritalin mainly because of the cost but after lowering my Strattera dose from 60mg to 40mg I am realizing that some things I was blaming on another med (Synthroid after having thyroid removed) are more likely Strattera issues - tired, brain fog, nausea, rapid heart beat. I really hope Ritalin works for me but for some reason I'm anxious about stopping Strattera all together. I guess after 3 years on it I'm not sure who I am without it and who I will be with the Ritalin. I'm 42 years old with 2 young kids and I play rec hockey twice a week. I guess I just don't want any major changes unless they are in a positive way! Thanks for sharing your experiences on Strattera and Ritalin. I hope I'm like you!
