Hi Rockin Robin... My 9yr old son is on Adderall XR--and the notice we saw from being on meds to off is slight but all good!!! He still runs around plays and gets in trouble on occassion...but when we tell him to stop he does, tell him to do something he does - he listens able to do homework within 15-20minutes instead of hrs! (basically he has to only has to be told once something, not over & over. ) His teacher this year never would have thought he was on meds until we told her to get a report from her for our doctor.. If we skip (on accident) a day --well we know!!!
Hope this helps - take care
Michelle
Hello...I am a new mom to the forum and was wondering if anyone has any positive information or websites on Ritalin? I have started my 8 year-old son on this drug and have been given reports from his teacher about a huge difference in his ability to focus at school...The teacher is unaware that he is on Ritalin. Any info would be appreciated...Thanks for your time!

Sure, websites on ritalin (methylphenidate), no problem.
This is the forum here on ritalin:
http://www.addforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=27
This one is very technical:
http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/traindev/cpd/adhd/drug/mpd4.htm
This one is aimed at patients:
http://www.medformation.com/ac/mm_usp.nsf/usp/202361.htm
I don't have a product information sheet on methylphenidate - I think because it's been around so long. There is specific dosing information and such on other sites and in literature I have, but it can be a bit much to go through, if you 're not used to reading this type of material (again very technical).
This web page is one of the better ones - Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Pharmacotherapy, but it's aimed at Dr's:
http://www.vh.org/adult/provider/psychiatry/CPS/39.html
If you have specific questions you might want to ask them in the medication forum.
