Hi, I just can’t figure out the right dosage on Wellbutrin XL. I now take 300 mg, but maybe I felt better on 150 mg, or maybe increase to 450 mg is the right thing to do. Please, anyone with some personal experiences on Wellbutrin XL dosage? If you take 450 mg of XL, can you take it all in one dose in morning? Or anyone found it beneficial to spread out the dosing of the XL throughout the day?<O:p</O:p<O:p</O:p

Let me just preface by saying that I haven't taken Wellbutrin myself, however, I know several people that are currently on it. I would definitely avoid the 450 mg dosage. Wellbutrin carries with it an increased risk of seizures when you get up and above the 450 mg mark. I know that the SR version can increase seizure risk at 150 mg levels, so I'm glad you're on the XL version instead. Nevertheless, I personally would recommend (make sure you do this through your physician) spreading the medication out as opposed to taking it all at once. I know it is less convenient, but I have some qualms about this medication. Just out of curiosity, have you and your physician looked at Strattera at all?

I'd weigh the options during a discussion with your doctor. Normally, if 300mgs is well tolerated - but you aren't getting theraputic benefit - the dose of 450mgs is considered.
