Ive been taking ritalin short-action 10 mg 2xday for 3 days now , it works wonders, even though duration is short but at least gives me couple of hours of peace of mind a day. But the thing is, i get light headache even after the meds, and i cant seem to get to sleep.... i just cant like calm down or shut down.... before i slept hyper easy so i know its unusual and prolly because of ritalin... any advise anyone? will this get better?

How late in the day are you taking your last dose?
I'm on that dose, and the headache stage will pass, it did for me within days.

That might be too late in the day. Start backing up that last dose by 30 minutes a day until you hit the right time. I take my last dose around 2p. That seems to be the best timing for me.

I was on Ritalin but it was years ago. I sometimes get headaches on Adderall but never so bad that an aspirin can't deal with them.

A dose taken at 4:00 p.m. should be out of your system long before bedtime unless you go to bed really early. If you are taking two doses per day, do you take one at 12:00 p.m. and the second one at 4:00 p.m.?
