I have been on Paxil Cr 12.5mg for 10 days now. When I first started taking it I had alot of energy and was feeling good. Now I am right back where I was peaks and valleys, moody, and tired. Does this indicated a dosage change? Or do I need a different medication?

Hi Robin
12.5 mgs is a low dose. They started me out at 10mg and doubled it, and it took a good 6 weeks for me before it really started working. The tiredness didn't go away for maybe 3 months, so hang in there. It really workss well for me now and I don't miss the anxiety.

I am really sensitive to medication in general and I couln't deal with the foggy feeling... I basically was useless in the day for a week and missed ALL My classes. I'm a lifeguard, so I can't risk being like that... so I went back to the lower dose, because I got a LOT more done and felt a lot better about myself in terms of productivity... the Dr doesn't know about it, but this is what is best for ME. I am going to go up a LITTLE BIT at a time in the summer.
What kind of tiredness are you talking about? I'm so used to havng energy and I am supposed to start training for triathlong nationals for next year.. so this doesn't sound too good...

My tiredness occures when I need the energy the most at around 1:00. Now I am on a higher dose 25mg I tinkered with my dosage and am taking it at 12:00 right before lunch so know I dont get tired until around 9:00 when both kids are in bed. I finally dont have a headache today. So that is a good thing. And everything seems to be going well. I feel positive and upbeat.
Hope this helps
Robin ;)
