Hey guys,

I've been on Adderall 30mg XR daily for the past month or so. I don't like it, I'm too jittery, my limbs need to move... I feel like I'm speeding through life.

I've heard Dexedrine is easier on the body. Can anyone give me a description of it?

I'd like to consider asking my doc to change.

It sounds like your Adderall dosage is too high - you're overstimulated. Ask your doctor for lower dose before switching.

yeah, you may want to try 25mg or 20mg XR.

But also, since you're so willing to switch that tells me that you're not a big fan of the therapeutic benefits. I find that I'm willing to put up with a lot in side-effects if I feel I'm getting a lot of benefit (not necessarily a good thing), but when I'm not really feeling a lot of therapeutic effect I'm pretty quick to ask for a switch.

I have problems with feeling too jittery on stimulants as well- they exacerbate some of my anxiety problems. I've found Dexedrine to be the smoothest stimulant yet. I don't feel a strong start or bad crash afterwards either. That seems to be the general consensus.

Though it's possible Dex will also make you jittery. In which case it may be time to add on clonidine or guanfacine if lowering the dose doesn't help.

Yeh I'm switching to 25mg tmrw, hopefully it does the trick.

I definitely have some anxiety issues too, and I find with the Adderall I just rush right past the things that make me anxious, instead of actually dealing with them. I'm flying on the adderall, big time.

Dex is smooooth. It mellows me out sometimes, but it also helps me concentrate. I never notice it kick in or wear off. Kinda makes me feel like a Zen master. It's very gentle, so it should be better for you.
