Hi, I just got a new prescription of Adderall IR 10mg and am very curious as who makes the kinds I got. I've been doing some research but I can't seem to find this manufacturer. On my bottle it says the manufacturer is VI, that's all it says. They're blue round ones with an E 111 inprint in them. So far all I've found information about are from the Barr and Coepharma ones. I got these from my Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy. So far not being really happy about the way they're making me feel. Any information will be great, thanks in advance. Take care everybody.

Is this it? (http://www.drugs.com/imprints/e-111-11164.html)

wlegy has it right.

That's produced by Eon Labs (owned by Sandoz).
It appears to be generic dextroamphetamine, not generic Adderall.

You may want to call the Pharmacy and confirm the prescription that was filled and/or call your Doctor's office.

Oh, wow, thank you very much for the information, and yes elegy that is exactly the same pills I got. So excuse my lack of knowledge, dextroamphetamine is not the same as Adderall? I was taking Adderall XR 20mg before but it was making me too sluggish so that's why my Dr. switched me to a lower dose 10mg, she didn't mention if she was changing to something else. I cannot seem to function on these pills, I mean the 20mg XR were making sluggish but at least they were helping with my concentration, but with these all I want to do is lay down in bed and do absolutely nothing. My head feels so heavy. I think I'm going to call the pharmacy and ask about them. Thanks again.

In general terms dextroamphetime ("dexedrine") is a specific form of amphetamine and is a component of Adderall. The other three component of Adderall are related but are different varieties (or derivatives) of amphetamine.

As Adderall made you a bit drowsy and Dexedrine does the same (only more so) it may be you don't respond well to that class of medications overall. Or you may respond well to some degree, but not at that dosage.

Best to speak with the pharmacy to make sure they didn't make a mistake and/or with your Dr.....

(Oh, sorry elegy, I didn't mean to spell your name wrong like that that. It was initially a capital "E" and I wanted to make it lower case...I didn't notice that it became a "w". How embarrassing for me. Never cared much for "W" myself ;))

Thanks again Howard, so right after I read your respond I called the pharmacy and explained to them the situation, but the pharmacist told me that what they gave me was a generic form of adderall, so now I'm thinking to going back to Adderall 20mg XR because at least I could concentrate on those, like I said with these right now I feel useless. Or maybe next time I see my dr. I will tell her if she could write on the prescription to give me only the brand name one. Is there such a thing, a brand name Adderall IR?

P.S. I tried today only to take half of the pill, but it felt as if I took nothing :(

Yeah, it's definitely generic Adderall. It says that on the link that I posted. :p

I don't believe brand name Adderall IR exists anymore. There are, however, different generics of it, and many people prefer certain ones over the other.

Also, how many pills do you take a day? You may be used to the single dose of Adderall XR, but you're going to have to dose throughout the day with the IR.

I was wrong then to say it wasn't actually generic Adderall.

The Sandoz catalog indeed lists it as "mixed amphetamine salts" - so its not a single amphetamine compound. Sorry for spreading any confusion.

I wouldn't be overly worried about spreading confusion, as it has become a way of life. :P
