Do any of you use this?

I started using it last summer and boy, did it help! Over summer academically I started to perform and kicked ***. It also helped me emotionally with depression and anxiety. I could actually start and get things done.

I stopped it in September when I started Strattera. Then things were downhill while I adjusted. Things still weren't that great after February and I started to take Modafinil again.

I feel great. I can cope with anxiety and depression. My thinking and reading has improved considerably. Once again I can start projects with little trouble.

After googling I found out that it's a major stimulant used by government armed forces to keep pilots/soldiers awake and attentive.

Does anyone have long term experience with this medicine?

Been on Provigil for almost 2 years now. Take 200mg 2x a day. I have lots of sleep issues that result in residual sleepiness.

Provigil really isn't considered a 'major' stimulant but it is indeed a stimulant. Doesn't do jack for ADD issues for me but does help fend off the beast in me that makes me want to sleep several times a day.

Long term? No experience. Short term (2 months)? Provigil sent me to the ICU for 16 days, 9 of which I spent in a coma and on life support, not expected to survive once I went into shock after hours of severe hypotension (referred to as 'vasodilatation' by Provigil maker Cephalon and said to occur in 2% of 3000+ test subjects who actually took Provigil, 0% of tet subjects taking placebo). In rapid sequence my kidneys went into total failure, followed by partial pulmonary failure, encephalopathy, cardiomyopathy, and acute heart failure. BP was around 60/35.)

I can say more, but that sums up my short-term experience, other than to say that, probably unlike many who have had the worst possible side effect I am still alive to tell the tale.
