 :sad:The doctor prescribed it 2 days ago, I am nauseaus, dizzy.
Has anyone else had these reactions. It cost me 60 bucks for the medicine, Iwonder if it is still working even if it makes me sick? I don't have the money to go back, and buy more of a different type. I had to cancell all my students today. This is the dumps. (Pun acceptable)

huggss janine.... my son took zithromax as well and had similar symptoms. the pharmacist said it was because it is such a strong antibiotic. try calling the pharmacist... they may have suggestions to help alleviate the annoying side effects.
hope you feel better

Thanks Aqua, That made me feel tons better. Then maybe the stuff is still working.
I ate a bunch of nuts yesterday maybe that had somethingto do with it? I just had an unexpected visitor and felt better in her presence. So perhaps its passing. I have yet to take todays dose.
It says on the label that it can be taking on an empty stomach. I didn't so I did not expect any problems.

If the med makes you feel ill. Before taking a dose try taking an antacid about an hour before the med. We find this help's a lot with the resident's. Zithromax is a very strong med and will stay in your system about two weeks after you have finished your last dose. I know it say's you can take it with or without food; but, I have alway's found I felt better when I took it with food especially absorbing food like bread.

Very common for antibiotics to make you sick to your stomach. The stonger it is, the worse it is! And of course you MUST take them all, dispite the side effects. If you don't, you won't have killed off all the "biotics" causing the problem - leaving only the most drug resistant ones to repopulate your body! You're gonna have to just grin and bear it!
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks all, I feel better knowing that for sure. For the most part I felt better tonight. But I just took day 3, it hasn't registered yet I dont think. I ate a slice of bread for dinner, and went to see a play and didn't feel too bad.
Sure helps to know others feel lousy too on antibiotics.:D

You could try a probiotic yoghurt or drink ca. 1/2 to an hour after taking the antibiotic, they'll replace the gut bacteria that get killed off by the antibiotic and may also help settle your stomach.
