Cross Posted in Vyvanse too!
I have been on 300 Wellbutrin and 50 mg Vyvanse since Wednesday. Started at vyvanse 20 and moved up. I am exhausted, I cannot move, I am just lying around in bed all day. I cannot handle this, is it normal?
I am 37 and recently diagnosed.
Thanks, Jen

Do you mean that you started Vyvance last week but were on 300mg of Wellbutrin for sometime earlier?
Were you tired before Vyvance was added?

See I am so exhausted my posts are incomplete. I was diagnosed with ADD recently and am 37 years old. On last Saturday I started Wellbutrin 150 mg. Wednesday, I added 30 mg Vyvannse and increased Wellbutrin to 300 mg. I am currentlly at 50 vyvanse and 300 mg wellbutrin.
I am exhausted.....so tired. I can barely lift my head up.....my add symptoms are worse then ever.
I have always had a problem with getting up and moving, but nothing like this.
I hope that clears it up, it is the best I can do I am so foggy.
Thanks for helping.

Most people spend at least a few weeks at 150mg of Wellbutrin before increasing. Your body needs time to adjust. How else could you know that you really need more.
It is wise to only start one med at a time so that if there are side effects, you know what med is causing them. Also, in this instance, Wellbutrin helps some with ADD. Until it's tried alone, you can't know that you really need an ADD med, too.
Call your doctor!
If it was me, a totally non-medical person but one with some experience with psych meds, I would want to go back to 150mg Wellbutrin w/o Vyvance to see if that took care of the problem, and then try Vyvance or another ADD med in a month OR increase Wellbutrin and then wait another month to try an ADD med. That way I'd know what was responsible for what. I'd also find another psychiatrist (the right type of doc for these perscriptions) if both were prescribed just for ADD.

Thank you so much. I tried to call the psych yesterday, but it was Saturday so I left a message. I am also having really trippy vivid dreams. I have never taken any med before,so perhaps I am just hyper sensitive!
Again, thank you so much for following up.

Sounds like the two meds are causing dopamine overload, any positive benefits are thwarted by either anxiety or tiredness. After i take my adderall, I just want to sleep and sleep more. In my case the WB helps me perk up. But my Dr. has told me that too much dopamine will cause fatigue. You might want to reduce the dosage of either med to see if it helps. It is hard because what might perk one up makes another fatiuged, and visa-versa.

This morning, I took the Wellbutrin 300mg and dropped Vyvanse down to 20 mg. I am not nearly as exhausted. Thank you all, it is nice to come to a place where people get it!

it's most likely taking the two meds in combination and not having your body used to either of them. It takes time for your body to adjust and metabolize these new substances. One things for sure after a while you will not be exhausted on wellbutrin . It seems like you went up in dosage rather quickly honestly, I would have hung around on a lower dose for a longer period of time
