Ok right my doctor here in good old switzerland has absolutly no idea about ADD or ritalin, she goes through another doctor before she answers anything, but i cant see that doctor because he doesn't speak english :[

So she has told me to take 5mg a day (half a 10mg tablet for now and see how it goes)

So what my thinking was, how will i know how it is going, if i dont know what its like without trying more... i have noticed a bit of a change, but it seems to work only sometimes or like randomly

What do you all take?
Do you think i should just do waht the doctor orderd for now?
Should i take moreee and see how it goes?

btw i am 17 with inattentive add i think its called, if that helps? :o

Because you are still a minor, I think you should phone your doctor.

Yes, according to the PI sheet "Starting doses for kids are 5mg 1-2x a day. some Adults do ok on 5-15mg, while the adult average dose is 20-30 2-3x a day. Some patients may require 40-60mg,

It also tests to see if you can tolerate it. Stick with what they say.

If you are unsure about how to tell if it's working, it might be worth making a list of all the things that your ADHD messed with. Then keep an eye on that sheet and see if any areas improve.

ADHDers self reporting skills can be pretty awful, I know mine are - getting it down on paper is one way to note changes.

If it's working randomly, check what's different about that day - if anything. I realised that drinking orange juice would change how it worked, could be something like that?

All the best : )
