I startet with 20mg Long acting Methyphenidat, and now i increased the dose several times in the last two years up to 120mg/d.
Is there somewhere an end, or will I have to increase the dose now every few month? I heard that it is normal to up the dose in the beginning, but will I ever reach a dose where I have constant effects for the rest of my life ??

I live in Europe, so switching to amphetamine is no option for me. :(

Maybe a drug holiday? what effects are you trying to acheive? 60mgs is the max rec dose PDR.

By amphetamine I guess you mean Adderall?

You are experiencing increasing bodily tolerance to the meds. Happened to me too. I never had the same high level of effect as i did in the first year of ritalin use when i started in grade 2 at age 7.

A month or long drug holiday only benefited me for a couple of doses before my body increased its tolerance level back to normal. Taking a holiday, my tolerance level to the med decreased, making the drug more effective again. But that increased ritalin effectiveness only lasted for the first few doses before my body seemed to increase tolerance level back to normal, making the meds less effective.
