I have been on a Ritalin trial over two weeks including normal Ritalin and sustained release. At first I thought it helped to make me calm and focussed but I had terrible headaches. This happened not only when the drugh wore off, but often whilst on the drug. I thought this would have improved with a lower dosage and a sustained release version. But this week, I have had further symptoms. I have felt lethargic, depressed, had a cloudy mind and agitated. This has made my wife quite annoyed. I have dropped the Ritalin today and feel a lot better. I can concentrate better and am much more energised with no headaches. It is certainly disappointing. Not sure if anyone else has had this, but maybe stimulants don't help me and I need cognitive help instead. What do people think?

Hiya

It's quite a short time frame to have tried both instant and sustained release. However, if you've not had any real benefits without side-effects then it may be time to try another medication?

It's very common to have to work through a number of them before you find the one that works for you - at the dose that works for you. I tried three before settling on mine.

Has your doc got any plan B's with regard to medication?

Good luck with it all : )
