I am on 5mg of Focalin twice a day. I don't have a regular doctor so I picked up St. John's Wort as I have dealt with mild depression since I was in my early teens (am now 25). Is there anything I need to worry about drug-interaction-wise taking these two simultaneously? I did a quick search online and wasn't able to find anything related to Focalin.

Any advice or info would be much appreciated! :)

Because St John's is potent stuff, I would advise you to speak with a doctor - Even if anyone here tried the combination, it's still not enough to go by :)

No, no, no. Please don't take it. There's risks for potentially serious interactions as well as side effects. The FDA has very little control over herbal and other supplements, so keep in mind you really don't know what's in that bottle. Tests have shown that the amount of St. John's Wort in some supplements are half what the label claims.

Talk to your doctor before going near herbal supplements and other "natural" remedies. And after that, talk to your pharmacist.

St. Johns wort is very dangerous because while taking it, even eating aged cheese could put you in the hospital. I would absolutely NOT take the st. johns wort while on focalin, and wouldn't take focalin within 3 weeks of taking st. johns wort.
