All Went well. He said that she is ADD combined type: Inattentive and Impulsive. Geez I could of told them that without the $600 price tax ;) ! So it was fine and all is good. He wants to test me but I dont have the money to do it. (My insurance sucks)
That is about it for now

Does she have siblings, and have they been tested? Siblings have a 33% chance I think of having ADD if they have a brother or sister that has it.

You know, if you do have it, he may be interested in you getting treatment of some stripe for it.

I bring this up for a reason. You have lived your life to date, assuming you did test positive for it, without any treatement and obviously done well. However, ADDers don't always cope badly. At least it isn't always readily apparent that they do. Self reporting is notoriously unreliable which is one of the reasons why for so many years they assumed ADD went away with adulthood. What was really happening was that these adults grew up and simply avoided doing anything involving their deficits. Also, it is very difficult to self report on the more subtle aspects of the disorder.

I guess my point is, if you find out you do have it and you can find a way to treat it, try it out to see what happens. If now feels normal, maybe then will feel like incredible clarity. Who knows? I used to think GAD was normal. I had it most of my life.

The biggest single determining factor for the successful treatment outcome of any behavior modification program for ADHD(which is the Only therapy that works for hyperactivity) is whether or not the parent of the ADHD child treats their own disorder(s).

Good luck.

Heh, heh, Mctavish, So true. That's the first thing on the tape a lot of that other info I posted came off of. Familiar with Bill Dodson? My Doc Gave me an Audio tape of a presentation on standards of care in 2003 for the American congress of psychiatry and mental health care providers on current standards of care for Adult ADHD. I brain farted getting that in there.

I wonder if I e-mailed Mr. Dodson, or representative and asked for permission if he would let me post a written transcript of that program here? Do you think?

Doesn't hurt to ask. I won't post copy writed material like that without permission. Don't have any desire to upset anyone or violate intellectual property law. If I can't post the transcript I will post the study references. Those were government funded and are a matter of public record. :-p
